JKKP in Perai. How Effective?

Few days back i met an JKKP member of a component party in a meeting. It amused me - WHY these individuals have not change and they are still leaders who only talk big during meetings but lack of record on ground work. Talking big in a close door room, does not bring any good for the community. But these are the leaders being elected. Example in Perai, there are 4 JKKP for Gerakan members. But how many had attended the meeting in the last 2 years? I was told by one of the member who holds a main position in JKKP that, 2 of the members from Gerakan have not attended any meetings. When this was brought up to the Batu Kawan Gerakan Division Chairman, as usual - 'we will look into this'. So why should i criticize JKKK when JKKP it self is in-effective. Only one or two are on the ground and most of the time, my team, Munis and i accompany the JKKP Secretary Mr. Yacoph Hashim for ground work.

JKKP which is overlooked by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development ( Kementerian Kemajuan Luar Bandar dan Wilayah ), was establish in 2008 after few of the states fell in the hands of Pakatan Rakyat. Barisan Nasional mistake than was to appoint those who lack of credibility and those who seldom goes to the ground to highlight basic amenities issue.

In April 2008, i wrote a letter to than Miniter of Rural and Regional Development, Y.B Senator Tan Sri Muhammad Muhd Taib ( Click Here ) on some suggestion that the Ministry should look into. Of course i was not replied by the Ministry or all those i had given the CC. When the appointment took place, the same one was elected and youths were not given any chances. Youths should be given chances and the elders should guide and train them, so very soon they can take over.

Back than, i had suggested those with leadership skill and with credibility should be appointed. Division Chairman should get the profile of each individual and study them before appointing. I also suggested that there should be a age limit and those with computer skills that should be appointed. In 2008 Facebook, Twitter and blogs were not as 'hot' as now. But i realized the trend will change in a year or two - so those with computer skill is very important.

JKKP is an important platform and 'if' each and every members play it part, the grass root support for Barisan Nasional cant be denied. Perai is a small area and one of the seat where BN is capable of retaining it if ground work and issues concerning the Rakyat looked into. Lets look on one latest situation. Few days back when the earth quake hit Sumatra, tremors was felt all over the country. In Perai, how many of the JKKP leaders was on the ground assisting the Rakyat at high rise building? I was told that not evan one member called in to inquire on the ground situation. Why not all these leaders go down to ground and guide  the Rakyat? This would have created a good image and impression on Barisan Nasional. Much could have done since 2008. Its too late talking about it now. We have been raising this up, but these so call top level Division leaders would pretend that everything is fine!

Prime Minister Najib Razak is going all out and doing his best for the Rakyat. Many new initiative have been implemented. But lack of commitment and to serve with full heart at grass root level, jeopardize BN's chances of retaining the seat.
