Saree Distribution for Elderly Women

Kelab Cinta 1 Malaysia, Perai Seeds & ARA Koperasi gave away saree's & sarong for the elderly people. Many parties giving out hamper & money. This group of people seldom buy new cloths for themselves. So its our genuine effort to honor them. We are pleased to do our part for the ‘Warga Emas’ to make this year Deepavali a special one for them.

We are all aware that during this Festival of Light Celebration, many  will come  forward to provide assistance to those in need by giving out hampers and cash aids. We decided to honor 50 ‘warga emas’ ( 30 from Perai / 20 from Bukit Tambun ) with Saree and a sarung for each  of them. Hence we know they seldom buy new clothing for them during this auspicious day. They  use the cash  assistance received, for Deepavali & family rather than purchasing a new traditional costume for themselves. This is why we had decided to honor and to cheer them with new traditional costume of Saree.

The expenses of this comes from our own personal fund which was collected among us. We would like to thank all friends and families who had contributed for this purpose. Each individual is to receive materials cost RM75.00. We are pleased to cheer them in such way and may this year festival of light bring more laughter & joy to all the ’warga emas’. Thank You.

A Busy Week!

At the accident scene with
Yacop, Munis & company staff.
Past week have been a busy week with lots of paper work, ground work and other commitments. Here is just a few of them. It was sad there an accident in front of Megamall had caused a live. A motorcyclist had hit the victim who were crossing the empty road. Only later got to know, my friend, Sarathi was there to call the ambulance and got to know most of the situation through him. This accident could have been prevented if the highway authorities had not switch off the lights as early as 6.30am.

At Murali's Mother in law wake.
Furthermore motorist seems not to stop at the Tmn Supreme traffic light during wee hours. The next day, the company had called to seek assistance to find a solution since there are frequent accident in the area. For time being we will be writing in to suggest that street lights to be switch off around 7am and also to request PDRM to install CCTV at the Taman Supreme traffic light.

The Graveyard condition
Few days later, close friend's mother in law past away in Puteri Gunung and all our friends had visited him that night. The next day we attended the funeral. The burial was at the Hindu Graveyard in Simpang ampat Tasek. Its so sad to see the condition of the graveyard which is not well maintained. Everyone who were there seems to express their dissatisfaction. The total area of the grave is about 8 acres. Almost all these graveyard are not well maintain. Someone should come out with an idea to find a solution for this.

Anbu & Munis
The Permatang Tinggi Tamil School were to attend a local tournament in Perai and needed some assistance. I had asked Munis to give some contribution. The team is coached by our team member Annbuselian. They emerge champions in the tournament.

With Valluar Association
Chairman
Early during the year we had purchase some stationary, books, tiny begs for the purpose to be given to children. Since the Valluvar Association which is based in Perai are active in activities related to students, we visited their office to hand over the stuff.
Mr Ramu with his BBQ
We came across a young guy in Simpang Ampat who is running the BBQ business in front of his house. It was something different. He offers BBQ of fish ( few varieties ), chicken and cuttlefish. The sauce that makes the BBQ special. Good effort by this youth and he receives good response. He runs the business daily till 1am.

Together with Murali & Munis we visited the site of the shrine demolition by PPC. The shrine was situated deep inside from the main road. The temple which is about 50 years old need was demolished by the PPC authorities without consulting the workers. This is definately a wrong move by PPC. Temples aroud wharf were build during 1930's when Perai was a famous port / hub. There were many Indian workers here working at the port ( Click Here ). These temple were built to pray for their safety. PPC could and should have consulted the workers before carrying out the demolition! But, Barisan National leaders had already met on Sunday and issues a press statement ( by Datuk Hilmi - Penang Port Chairman ) that the Shrine will be re-build and PPC will bear the cost. But the Penang CM held his PC to demand the shrine to be build only a day later. ( Click Here for The Star News )
